1997 Proton Satria

Description:

I started this project with no knowledge of electric vehicles, just an idea of what I wanted. (80k/h with a range of 60km.)

I started out with a Jack & Heintz electric motor which is actually a aircraft generator 72vdc(compound wound). This worked fine, but it was very low on torque, (I had to run through all gears) and it ran far too hot. The controller also ran hot as well.

I have now fitted a motor I sourced from China. It is a series traction 120 volt DC. I have modified the vehicle to direct drive to a diff located in the front of vehicle using a rear diff from a RAV4, 3.1:1 ratio.
Acceleration 0 to 60kph in 18 seconds. (moderate)
